The James Engine is a new design that allows multi-cylinder two strokes to be manufactured with fewer parts and greatly reduced machining requirements.

This design can also be applied to steam or air pressure engines where a cylinder head is not required for operation.  The air pressure is applied to the underside of the piston, allowing the top end to remain open.  In this configuration, the pistons can be viewed while the engine is operating.

The HEX-2 and HEX-4 were built to demonstrate and verify that the design indeed works.
